My name is Bryan Grandy, and I'm the editor / writer / manager. For now, I'm wearing all of the hats. I've started this site for a few different reasons:

1. I'm a web designer in palm springs by trade, and wanted to gain a really solid grasp on this program that does content management, a program called Joomla . It's a free program that allows the user to add content and change the look and feel of the site in a completely web based environment. I've been told it's too complicated, and have always strayed away from it in the past. But I had the opportunity to start a new web site and thought I'd give it the old college try!
2. I've been wanting to start a complete online magazine that has a calendar of events of many of the things to do in the Palm Springs area. Not just your average "Bar Events" kind of thing, I'm talking about fun and interesting things to do in town, things you might not know about. Bar events nonwithstanding, Palm Springs has a lot to offer visitors as well as the locals. So...there are going to be a lot of articles and postings on "Things to do in Palm Springs"
   
3. I love to write. It's one of my passions. I get busy working, and tend to forget to do it. I've started journaling again every morning and even a bit throughout the day, and it's helping me immensely. This combines my love of writing with a new business.
   
4. I wanted to create a venue where I can do honest and objective reviews of local Palm Springs Web Sites. Eventually, when the site is more successful, I'll have a nice list of local Palm Springs businesses for viewers to browse through.
5. I'm going to turn this web site into a successfully ranked among the search engines site. Original content is what makes any web site successful among the search engines as well as among visitors. Within the next six months, my goal is to turn this web site into a tool to help my clients with. When successful sites link to other sites, the search engines take notice and rank them higher. So, it's a win-win situation. If I show up and write, I'll accomplish all of these goals.
   

I promise to do my best to make this online magazine an enjoyable one to read. Later, I'll have people do writing for me as well, to give readers some variety. Today is day one. It'll be fun to see where this journey takes me.
